Both the Rice’s whale and the North Atlantic right whale are disappearing, with protections stalled or pushed back.
Nearly a century after we almost hunted them to extinction, fewer than 360 right whales remain.
Vessel strikes have caused at least 36 deaths and 85 serious injuries of North Atlantic right whales since 2017, according to NOAA.
With around 340 individuals remaining, immediate action is imperative if we are to save these whales from extinction.
