The Invading Sea is a nonpartisan source for news, commentary and multimedia content about climate change and other environmental issues affecting Florida. The website is managed by Florida Atlantic University’s Center for Environmental Studies.
The website posts original content along with opinion pieces originally published by its media partners. These partners include more than 25 daily newspapers across Florida. Original journalism on the site includes a Q&A series with Floridians working to address climate impacts and other environmental challenges.
The site also features multimedia content such as short videos describing scientific concepts related to climate change in about a minute with the help of digital animation. It has also started the Climate Tech Minute video series on Florida companies developing products that address the causes and consequences of climate change.
