A keynote speech on “Making Climate Change Nonpartisan Again” will be part of the University of Florida’s 10th annual Climate Communications Summit.
Benji Backer, author of “The Conservative Environmentalist,” will be delivering the speech. Backer is founder of the American Conservation Coalition, which works to build the conservative environmental movement. This year, he is launching the Nature is Nonpartisan movement, which is devoted to depoliticizing environmental issues.
The theme of this year’s summit is “Trust, Connection and the Climate Story.” The event will also feature a panel on the “Vocabulary of Trust: New insights into words, language and climate change.”
The summit is being held Feb. 6 from 2-4 p.m. in the Reitz Union Auditorium on the UF campus in Gainesville. The event is free and open to the public but registration is required.
