This summer, Florida has experienced record-breaking heat. Warnings of excessive heat have been issued daily, putting the health and wellness of many people at risk.
These warnings are issued when the heat index reaches 105 degrees Fahrenheit, even when the actual air temperature is much lower. The heat index, or apparent temperature, combines the actual air temperature with the relative humidity to reflect what people are feeling when they step outside.
