Dear Invading Sea Readers,

Click below to view powerful video about the warming climate and how it’s affecting Florida.

It was produced for the Southwest Florida Climate and Community Initiative Summit, which was held on Jan. 17, according to Dr. Ana Puszkin-Chevlin, regional director of Growing Climate Solutions.

The Urgency of Now was commissioned to kick off the event and provide attendees an overview of:

— the climate impacts at the local level, including the link between a warming climate and hurricanes, specifically Hurricane Ian.

— the many types of solutions that can be implemented.

— the importance to impart an urgency for action among stakeholder.

The video was underwritten by some of the Initiatives’ partners, and two generous donors, Mrs. And Mr. Myra and Van Williams, and Andy Hill Investments.  It was recorded and directed by K.C. Schulberg, the Collier County Waterkeeper.

“The Invading Sea” is the opinion arm of the Florida Climate Reporting Network, a collaborative of news organizations across the state focusing on the threats posed by the warming climate.
